Scotvac V
4-7th October 2002

Hot on the heels of Scotvac IV is, yes you guessed it, Scotvac V. Made up from mostly #jamma and #ukvac crew, with a few friends and missuses tagged along, it was an excellent crowd of people all interested in one thing hot group sex. Games. And Food, and mostly Beer. (I've got quite a few tins left by the way, cheers). Oh and dancing to awful tunes that really should have been forgotten, including Fame, various Blondie efforts, Psychedelic Furs and unbelievably, Jesus Christ Superstar. I'm sorry about that.

Present were Jim (marblemad), Dave (Pinx) and his missus Lisa (Pinxy), Kevin (outrun), Kelvin (vurf) and Barry, Mike (mikeb), Rab and his missus Jackie, Stu McDonald and his missus Julie, Garfra and later on his missus Jo-Ann, myself (malc), my missus Catriona and daughter Becky. What a lot of missuses.

It all started on a crisp Friday morning, after a frantic Thursday night of toilet cleaning, shopping for bacon and pot noodles, and dog-hair removing from sofas. At about 9.30 am I picked up Pinx, Pinxy and Mikeb from Glasgow Airport, and after that met my wife and Jackie off at Terry's Tattoo Studio. (Always a good way to start a meet.)

After the tattoos we gingerly picked up Vurf and Baz from the train station, and all went back to my place to settle in, play some games, apply soothing cream and get ready for a VERY bumpy bus ride into Glasgow to a very large and busy pub called The Counting House where we met marb and had lots of well stacked grub and beer and strange green vodka stuff in pitchers...

We all went home on a slightly less bumpy bus and watched films on the projector, played consoles and cabs, and went to bed so we could get up at a reasonable time for the Saturday daytime meet. Saturday morning started with bacon and brown sauce rolls and a lot of beer got demolished today, probably more so than all the other days put together! We also took a trip to my local EB, which usually has quite a bit of retro stuff - kev got a 3D0 and a pile of games and I got Resident Evil and Mario Sunshine for GC, both of which are the reason this writeup is late.

• [1] Saturday, and I went and got Garfra, and Stu Mcdonald and his missus Julie arrived later on, with a HUGE box of choccies. Lovely. This is Garfra, pinxy and Catriona.

• [3] The Man of The Meet - Kev... He spent AGES getting me a working outrun board, which I was so bloody delighted with and no mistake. Major props dude.

Saturday night we went bowling, and nobody took a camera! Doh! I nearly got top score of the night, except Stu McD pipped me by about 6 points with the last shot of the night Afterwards garfra got taken home cos it was past his bedtime and we had a party with very loud and bad music (Malc was responsible for this) We had some seriously drunk people here which is always fun especially when they try and dance and can't.

After everyone was tucked into bed about 6am, we played games all sunday and then went for a late lunch, picking up Garfra and his missus Jo-Ann on the way.

Monday, lots and lots of games played, we brought out some old crusty space shooters for pinx to add to his want-list, specifically the obscenely playable Halley's Comet and the slightly more modern Viper Phase One. Then we had a large kebab each, and a series of smiley family pics before waving goodbye to pinx, pinxy and mikeb who left late monday night.

And that's it!! A bloody ace meet, with a really great bunch as usual, 4 days and they flew by like a single afternoon. It's a bit quiet here now, and I'm not sure if I like it. Come baaaaccckkk!!!
